ADR Class 5 transport across Western Europe

Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides – Class 5 covers materials that can intensify combustion or react violently under the wrong conditions. Each sub-class carries distinct handling, segregation, and documentation requirements. We transport both across Western Europe on full truckload tautliner trailers, packaged goods only, with full ADR compliance managed in-house.

What ADR classes do you transport under Class 5?
We transport both Class 5 sub-classes - 5.1 oxidising substances and 5.2 organic peroxides not requiring temperature control.
More information
Class 5.1 covers substances that, while not necessarily combustible themselves, can cause or intensify combustion in other materials. Class 5.2 covers organic peroxides - thermally unstable substances that can decompose exothermically. We carry organic peroxide types D, E, and F, which do not require temperature-controlled vehicles. All shipments run on full truckload tautliner trailers with packaged goods only.
Can Class 5 goods travel with other cargo?
Where regulations and segregation rules allow, Class 5 goods can travel alongside compatible cargo in the same tautliner. Compatibility is assessed on a per-shipment basis.
More information
ADR sets out specific segregation requirements for Class 5 - particularly around flammable materials and other oxidiser combinations. Some co-loading is permitted, some is not. When you submit your load details we assess compatibility as part of the planning process. Where mixed loading is possible it can reduce cost compared to a dedicated run - we always flag the options available for your specific cargo.
What documentation is required for Class 5 shipments?
Standard ADR transport documentation applies - transport document, safety data sheet, and emergency response information carried on board at all times.
More information
For Class 5.1, the transport document must correctly identify the oxidising substance, UN number, packing group, and any subsidiary hazards. For Class 5.2, additional information on the organic peroxide type and any stabilisation requirements must be included. All documentation is verified in-house before departure.

Oxidizing substances - class 5.1

Hydrogen peroxide, ammonium nitrate, calcium hypochlorite – Class 5.1 substances do not burn themselves, but they actively support and intensify combustion in other materials. This makes segregation from flammable goods the critical operational consideration, alongside correct placarding and documentation.

All Class 5.1 shipments follow standard ADR protocols. Vehicles are placarded correctly, drivers hold full ADR certificates, and transport documents specify all subsidiary hazards where applicable.

Score Logistics handles Class 5.1 shipments weekly across Western Europe. All drivers are fully ADR-certified.

Organic peroxides - class 5.2

Organic peroxides are thermally unstable – they can decompose exothermically, sometimes rapidly, and that decomposition can accelerate under heat or contamination. Classification into types A through G determines what transport conditions are required.

We carry organic peroxide types D, E, and F – the three types that do not require temperature-controlled vehicles. These are transported on standard tautliner trailers under full ADR compliance, with correct placarding, segregation, and emergency documentation on every shipment.

Score Logistics handles Class 5.2 shipments across Western Europe. All drivers are fully ADR-certified.

ADR transport you can plan around

85 trucks, all ours, all ADR-certified. One contract, one liable party, full chain of custody from loading to delivery.

Cargo compatibility is assessed on a per-shipment basis. Where regulations and segregation rules allow, Class 5 goods can travel alongside compatible cargo in the same tautliner – giving shippers with mixed loads more flexibility without compromising compliance.

Clients shipping more than 5 loads per month qualify for Inner Circle conditions – priority capacity, a dedicated point of contact, and rates that reflect the volume relationship.
